The Following list is a good guide to check yourself with when you or your parents are packing your lunch box for school, to ensure that it is a healthy lunch box packed full of the right foods to give your brain energy through out the school day

 a good portion of starchy food, e.g. potato salad, thick wholemeal bread, chapatti, pitta pocket.

 

 plenty of fruit and vegetables, e.g. an apple, satsuma, handful of cherry tomatoes or carrot sticks, mini-can of fruit chunks in natural juice or small box or raisins.

 

 a portion of dairy food, e.g. individual cheese portion or pot of yogurt.

 

 a portion of lean meat, fish or alternative, e.g. ham, chicken, beef, tuna, egg, hummus or bean/lentil salad.

 

 a drink, e.g. Natural fruit juice, milk or water.
