The Following list is a good guide to check yourself with when you or your parents are packing your lunch box for school, to ensure that it is a healthy lunch box packed full of the right foods to give your brain energy through out the school day

a good portion of starchy food, e.g. potato salad, thick wholemeal bread, chapatti, pitta pocket.
plenty of fruit and vegetables, e.g. an apple, satsuma, handful of cherry tomatoes or carrot sticks, mini-can of fruit chunks in natural juice or small box or raisins.
a portion of dairy food, e.g. individual cheese portion or pot of yogurt.
a portion of lean meat, fish or alternative, e.g. ham, chicken, beef, tuna, egg, hummus or bean/lentil salad.
a drink, e.g. Natural fruit juice, milk or water.
